Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge #317

My family and I went to our friends' wedding last weekend, and I decided to use this week's sketch from Atlantic Hearts as the inspiration for the card.  It was a lovely outdoor wedding and the card I created really worked well with the clean and simple style of the event.  (whew!)

Using the so very pretty Feels Like Home paper collection (now retired but still available!), this card went through a few variations before I was happy with it. I did deviate from the sketch a bit, but I did use it as my starting point, and I think the main elements still shine through.

For this card, I used June's Stamp of the Month - It's Your Day to Sparkle (sneak peek!), and I stamped the image onto the patterned paper using Pewter Ink and then fussy cut it out.  I hand coloured the flowers and leaves and then went one step further and stamped the image onto Ballerina Cardstock which I then fussy cut out the base so that I could paper piece it onto my project.  It is difficult to see in the picture, but I carefully added some Clear Shimmer Brush to the cake stand, I say carefully because regular dye ink will run as both products are water-based, so I endeavored not to get too much (if any) on the stamped image!

I backed my project using Sapphire Cardstock, this was to bring out the dot pattern and to give the simplicity a nice frame.  The sentiment was stamped directly on the woodgrain patterned paper (the picture does not do it justice), and I added a few bitty sparkles to the center of my flowers to add a little bit more bling.

A lovely clean and simple card for a lovely afternoon wedding out in nature. Thank you for stopping by, and I genuinely appreciate your comments.  I hope I have inspired you to come to play along with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Happy Crafting!
