Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #271

Life has a funny way of making you take a break even when you do not intend to take one.  The past several months have been a bit of a rollercoaster ride and well, I had to step off for a few weeks and just concentrate on family and other commitments. Happily, it is summer and school is out for my son and in between all the summer fun we have planned, I am spending time in the craft room!

For this week's sketch from Atlantic Hearts I decided to use the super bright and fun papers from the Central Park paper packet and after playing around for about 10 minutes I realized I was recreating the beautiful artwork from page 39 of the Seasonal Expressions 2!  Inspiration can come from so many places!

The hot air balloon and it's sentiment are from the PML cards that are found in the paper packet and I did trim it down to better fit my card.  I decided to keep this card really clean and simple adding just a bit of gold shimmer trim and a few of the small Central Park Sequins, I LOVE that they are clear!  I also highlight a few areas on my hot air balloon with the Gold Shimmer Brush.

Clean and simple yet so bright and cheery! The sentiment makes it that this card can become a birthday card, thank you card, thinking of you, new baby...

Thank you for stopping by and I truly appreciate your comments.  I hope I have inspired you to play along with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Happy Crafting!

  1. Love your whimsical card and selection of colors...like the watercoloring of the balloon. We have gone several times to the Albuquerque, New Mexico Festival in October which is fantastic. In case you were not aware your card meets the Double Trouble Challenge #4 Recipe 3,2,1 and it can still be entered until the 15th of this month. If you enter in the Double Trouble Challenge you will be eligible for two chances for the random draw prize after the challenge closes.
