Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #196

Image may contain: text
Quickly headed towards the end of January and my little man's birthday!  Time goes way too quickly.  Just saying.

Fun sketch this week from AHSC.  I wasn't sure what to do with it at first but as I dug through my stash I decided to finally play with the Jeepers Creepers Paper Packet and the Monstrous Halloween Thin Cuts Bundle both of which technically retired with the Holiday Expressions book at the end December but I noticed are still available on my shopping website under "Going Soon",  when is soon??  I'm not sure when they will be taken off the website so if you have been thinking about it now is the time to shop!

Other products I used on this card are:

Inks - Willow, Lemon, Pansy, Tangerine, and Lagoon
Shimmer Trim - Blue, Purple, Green, and Teal
Cardstock - Carnary and White Daisy

Thank you for stopping by and I truly appreciate your comments.  I hope I have inspired you to come play along with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Happy Crafting!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #194

The holidays are over and I feel like I finally have all the dishes done!  With the chores getting caught up, I am getting more time back in the craft room and spent some time today playing along with AHSC. This week is a super cute sketch (as always) and I decided to try and recreate it as close as possible.

Close To My Heart recently released the new Seasonal Expressions (love) but I decided to use the Whimsy Fundamentals Collection from the Annual Expressions for my paper choices on this card.  I really like the washed out, watercoloured look of this paper collection.  It is very soft, gentle.  I found pairing the soft, water coloured blue tones of Crystal Blue and Glacier with the bright pop of Smoothie and Peacock really brought this card to life for me.

I used Peacock Ink to ink all the edges of my patterned paper and the card base, I also used this ink to stamp my sentiment and the super cute scribbled hearts from the Happy Heart Stamp set (A1192).  I embossed the Smoothie cardstock with the (retired) hearts embossing folder and heavily sanded both it and my Cricut bow to bring out the white core of the paper.  I think the shabby chic sanded look goes well with the water coloured tones of the patterned paper.  The final details on my card are the lovely peacock coloured ribbon for the Enchantment Ribbon Pack and a sparkle because every card needs a sparkle!
