Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #221

My son has been doing a vision therapy program for the past several months and next week is his last session!  He has come a long way and I wanted to make a special card for the therapist who has been so kind and patient with him.  Granted I have a pretty great kid but still, an hour a week of one-on-one therapy with a very active 9-year-old has got to try anyone's patience!

Cue this weeks Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and I have the perfect inspiration for my Thank You card.  I decided to use the Prickly Pear Papers for their bright happy colours and paired it with Tangerine and Blossom Cardstock.

I wanted to stick with the design but also wanted to go a little outside to box and started searching through my Cricut images...  I decide on the flower overlay and ended up cutting it out slightly smaller a second time in the patterned paper so that I could do a bit of paper piecing. (Yay! for old school techniques!) Both the thank you and flower cutouts are from the Cricut Artisty Collection.

I did fussy cut the scalloped sapphire blue border from a zip strip and matched it with White Shimmer Trim to create a border for the pennants.  To finish off the card I added a bit of the white shimmer trim under the flower Cricut cut and also added a few swipes with the Clear Shimmer Brush.  A few bitty sparkles and a few of the large sequins from the Prickly Pear Sequins.

Thank you for stopping by and I truly appreciate your comments!  I hope I have inspired you to come play along with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Happy Crafting!
