Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge # 207

For this week's sketch from AHSC,  I was trying to go "outside the box" again and I am mostly happy with the results.  The Artfully Sent Cricut Collection (retired) has lots of cards that have cutout sections and I thought to try that with this card but ended up cutting the cutout section out and mounting it on Sorbet cardstock which I heavily sanded to bring out the white core of the paper.  I then decided to mount all of that onto a Kraft Paper card base.  Following the sketch, my card than needed flowers and a sentiment...

The flowers are from the new Cricut Flower Market Collection and I used Sorbet, Canary, Glacier, Sea Glass, and New England Ivy Cardstocks cut out at 2 and 2.5 to create these clusters.  The Happy Easter sentiment is from March's SOTM and I stamped it onto one of the pattern papers from Hello Lovely.  To add a bit of sparkle and draw attention to the cutouts that are in the Hello Lovely Floral paper, I painted the leaves with the Clear Shimmer B…

Dreamin' Big

I have been very busy creating over the past few months and haven't had enough time to blog!  Over the next few weeks, I plan to share some of the cards that I have created for my monthly creative clubs and my "Big Spring Card Workshop".
Using the Make It From Your Heart, Volume 2, Pattern 23 as my design inspiration, this card came together quickly.  Products I used are the Dreamin' Big Paper Packet, the Dreamin' Big Thin Cuts Bundle (unfortunately the Thin Cuts are now sold out but the coordinating Stamp Set (C1674) is still available until April 30th!).  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Birthday Sparkles (B1537) stamp set and I used Poppy, Saffron and Slate Inks for my stamping.  A gold sequin with a clear sparkle in the center finished off my card.
I am going to submit this card to the Between the Folds Challenge 43A - Spring Theme and the Heart 2 Heart Challenge - April Showers because this card is pretty spring to me!
Happy Crafting!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #206

Last week I was asked to make a special Birthday card and it needed to be "masculine"! Looking through my paper options I picked out the Rustic Home Fundamentals Collection that is found in CTMH's current Annual Inspirations.  When this catalog came out last summer and I initially saw the changes from the normal "paper packets" to the "Fundamental Creative Collections" I wasn't sure about them. But, of course, I have been pleasantly surprised by how versatile these collections are and because they are created around our four exclusive colour palettes they work beautiful with all of our paper collections both past and present.  I love having the option to mix things up and add layers to my projects that I just won't have thought or been able to do in the past!
Using this weeks sketch as inspiration for AHSC, I decided to create this (hopefully) masculine 5x7 card.
I mounted the barn wood paper onto Pacifica Cardstock and the trees are from Cri…
