Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #152

Spring break is upon us! and happily so is Spring. Lots of pretty daffodils, crocuses, and snowdrops are popping up everywhere. With all this pretty spring colour as inspiration, I decided to use the lovely Penelope Papers for this week's challenge from Atlantic Hearts.

I really am enjoying the change Close To My Heart made to the new paper packetsm the additional patterned papers really do add to the creative process.

For this card I used the super cute stamp set Housewarming Hello (A1179) and Sapphire ink for the stamping.

My Cricut was deployed for the fancy oval, banner, and the flowers.  I fussy cut the house out and used my watercolour pencils to colour it in.  I stamped the "the the neighborhood" sentiment directly onto the patterned paper (always a nail bitter!).

I swiped the edges of my card base and the background paper with Sapphire Ink to give it a little more dimension.  A few spakles and my clean and simple card in Spring colours is complete.

I love clean and simple cards but sometimes I feel that it's not quite done. If I decide to add more to this card I will be sure to post an update.

Thank you for stopping by, and I truly appreciate your comments.  I hope I have inspired you to come play along with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #150!

#150 already!  Time flies when you are crafty.  So life has been super busy the past several weeks, and my creative mojo has been on the backburner so to speak.  I was a little lost when I sat down to do this weeks' sketch from AHSC, and I wanted to do something a little different.  Michelle at AHSC being the wonderful lady she is suggested perhaps mixed media and this layout slowly took form.

Using the super fun (yet retired) later skater paper packet as further inspiration I then decided to use a few of the Later Skater Picture My Life cards (also retired) on this layout.
I created the background using the Ink Blot (D1160) stamp set.  I am totally in love with this stamp set!  I used whisper, lagoon and pear Inks and randomly stamped all over the white daisy cardstock base using both 1st and 2nd generation stamping.  FUN!

I did use two pieces of Later Skater paper under my pictures and purposely offset them to give a little more dimension.  I also swiped the edges of these pieces and the white daisy base using the whisper ink.  Other stamp sets I used on this layout are Play Hard - Soccer (B1501) and the Later Skater Workshop on the Go stamp set (retired).  A few green and blue epoxy bubbles and my layout is done!
Honestly, it feels good, it has been awhile since I have made a layout and I am happy to get this memory for my son finished.

Thank you for stopping by, and I truly appreciate your comments.  I hope I have inspired you to play along with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
