Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #118

My husband and I spent the last few days at the mercy of a very nasty flu and so this week I decided to closely follow the super cute sketch from AHSC. I really don't have much creative mojo in me and I am so thankful that they always give us a really good designs to build on.

For this card I used Gypsy Cardstock which I sanded heavily with my sanding block, the patterned paper is from the Wanderful Paper Packet, White and black Shimmer Trim and my sentiment is a sneak peek of the August Stamp of the Month which I stamped in Gypsy and Black ink. The black line on my blue dot paper I hand drew using a journalling pen. I frequently see this freehand technique on projects and really like the look of it. I have now tried it several on several of my own projects and love the whimsy.
Thank you for stopping by, I truly appreciate your comments. Please follow the link to check out all the great artwork submitted to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope you get inspired and decide to come play along. We love to see what you create and you might get voted as one of the top 3 cards of the week.

Thank you... now on to our hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Michelle at  My Creations with Michelle. If you came from Heather of Inky Hugs then you are in the right place.

For this blog hop I decided to make a few cards...

Card #1 - Products I used to make this card are the Jackson Paper Packet, Gold Polka-dot Washi, Bronze Shimmer Trim and Barn Red Cardstock and Ink.

I was flipping thru some old flyers and directions for design inspiration and picked this design from the "Cloud Nine Cardmaking Kit" from 2013.

Card #2 - I started by laying down several layers of Smoothie Striped Washi Tape and yes, I lined up the pattern. I then stamped the balloons using Sorbet, Smoothie, Glacier, Honey, Pear and Gypsy ink and fussy cut out the bunch to make my embellishment.  I tied a pretty bow around it using Glacier Extra Thick Twine. I stamped the sentiment in Gypsy and added to a few Purple Glitter Gems to finish off my card. I also stamped "Because you're a one-of-a-kind, fabulous person" inside the card.

I am the very last stop on this hop across Canada but if you are still completing the circle your next stop is back at the beginning in Nova Scotia with Michelle of My Creations with Michelle. Thank for hopping along with us -we hope we were able to inspire you to get creative using some of the designs, products and techniques seen along the way.  We hope you will join us again next month when we will be featuring the projects full of Summer Fun.  So mark August 15th on your calendars and hop along with us.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #116

For this weeks challenge at Atlantic Hearts I decide to try to create a card using only stamps and no patterned paper but I also wanted it to be "clean" and follow the sketch...

Using the Dizzy Circles (C1610) stamp set I layered stamped three of the spiral images in Canary, Lagoon and Hollyhock ink. The sentiment is from the Finding the Words (D1616) stamp set, I REALLY like this set as you can customize so many sentiments with it. I then added a few pieces of Lagoon Heart Washi Tape, some clear sparkles and one lone little white sequin from the Coral Reef Sequins and a mini staple for some added dimension and I like it!
