A La Vie & Poppy Christmas

For today's Christmas card reveal... La Vie en Rose and Poppy! Do the design look familiar?? I have used it before but it comes from Make It from Your Heart Volume 2, Pattern 28. I love all the how to books from CTMH. They are a great source to help jump start the creative mojo.

The La Vie en Rose Paper Packet is lovely and fully of drama as I always find black and white to be so striking. For this card I paired the quartrefoil patterned papers from La Vie with a new colour called Poppy, which I embossed using the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder and lightly sanded it to bring out the white core. For some sparkle and to add more colour I then added the Coral Shimmer Trim (on a Slate cardstock base) and a few of the pretty flowers from the White Pine Complements. The white daisy piece was cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy Collection and the sentiment is from the Pear & Partridge Scrabooking WOTG from a few years ago.  I try not to use retired sentiments and stamps in my workshops but this one just fit the card perfectly.


I am going to submit this card to Color My Heart Color Dare #165 which is to use Ruby, Slate, Black and Whisper. I did use Poppy instead of Ruby and no Whisper but... I think it should be ok.

Ariana and Delicate Wings...

Working on cards for my monthly Card Club and I love to use "challenges" to help me focus (sometimes I have too many ideas and not enough paper!).  Challenges are not only helpful but also a lot of fun.
Products I used to make this cards are the very pretty Ariana Paper Packet, the sentiment is from the Joyful Birthday Stamp Set (B1419) and the current Petite Perks - Delicate Wings (ask me how you can get yours free!) for the stamped images. All stamping was done in Indian Corn Blue Ink and all products are from Close To My Heart.  Some of the challenges that inspired me for this card are:

Heart 2 Heart Challenges: Pantone Spring 2014 Color Challenge The challenge is to use one (or more) of the Pantone Spring 2014 colors on your project; only neutrals such as white, cream, tan, gray, or black may also be used. I feel the Ariana Colour palette and the Indian Corn Blue that I used for the stamping fall into the colour palette used in the Pantone Spring 2014 nicely.
