Atlantic Hearts #126, BTF #7 and Color Dare #160

Been feeling so MIA lately! Been very busy with back to school for my little guy (of course) AND I got the back to school bug. It was just a cold for most but for me it is lingering going and round and round from my ears to my sinus to my lungs. So annoying! Anyways, I have also been very busy working on this years epic Christmas Card Workshop, this is my 4th year and my crafty peeps do 20 cards (2 each each of 10 designs) in one day. This year has a few changes and I can't wait to share... soon, very soon!

To take a little break from Christmas, I decide to make a card using the La Vie En Rose paper packet. My mother-in-law needs an extra special Thank You card and I thought these papers would be perfect. With this weeks design challenge from AHSC, I am also doing a few other challenges. This weeks colour challenge from Color My Heart was to use Black, White, Ruby and Goldrush and this weeks challenge from Between to the Fold is Quotes.

Some other news for me... I got a Cricut Explore Air! My Expression 2 has been having issues for awhile (I wore it out) and my dear husband kept poking at it for me but it just wasn't cutting properly anymore wasting paper and time so I took the leap. I was worried about having to do everything through the Cricut Design Space website and have actually found it to be very user friendly so far. And the redesigned Cricut machine is wonderful, my cuts are so clean and precise. I am a happy crafter this week. To see how clean the cuts are the ruby flower overlay that I used on this card was one that I my old machine would have had problems with by not cutting all of it or chewing parts of it up.
One thing about using Cricut Design Space, I can search for all my loaded CTMH cartridges but it doesn't label which collection they are from so I think the flower border is from CTMH's very first Art Philosophy Collection and the banner/frame overlay is from our newest collection Artistry.

The sentiment is from Finding the Words (D1646) and I stamped it using black ink.  To add a little more detail I hand drew in lines on the banner/frame using a journaling pen. I lightly sanded the ruby flowers and goldrush card stock pieces to bring out the white core and added a few sparkles and enameled faceted gems to the flower centers to finish off my card.

Just realized I completed another challenge! At Heart to Heart Challenges this week it is Doodling, which I did around my banner/frame. :)

Happy Crafting!
