Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #88

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!  I was planning on doing some posts during the past few weeks but....  yeah. Time just goes so quickly and I cannot believe that Santa has come and gone and we are getting ready for the new year. With the new year comes some birthdays and I wanted to make a pretty card for the first birthday of the new year that we celebrate. Happy Birthday Ursula!
This weeks design challenge from Atlantic Hearts was perfect (of course) to help me get started. As you can see I really followed the design on this one! I made my card base to be 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 for a change and it created an nice frame for my butterfly's. To create this card I used the oh so pretty papers from the Brushed paper packet and the lovely butterfly's from Your Own Kind of Wonderful (D1627) stamp set. For the stamping I used Thistle and Pixie Ink and I swiped all the edges with Thistle for added dimension. I surprised myself in that no coloured cardstock was used in the making of …

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge # 86

Hello My Crafty Friends! Did you miss me?? Bet you didn't even notice I was missing...  So in early November I realized I needed to take a little break from the craft room and today seemed like a good day to get back at it. And oh! what a great sketch from Atlantic Hearts to help me get back in the groove!
Like everyone I am in the "Christmas is coming too quickly" mode and still need a few cards. Using the the Make It Merry (D1617) stamp set and the wonderful patterned paper from the Snowhaven Paper Packet this card came together quickly. I love the Snowhaven papers they are just so much fun!
To give an extra layer of colour (and a bit of pop) I chose Topiary cardstock and I used Cranberry to paper piece the body of my scooter. A few green sparkles from my stash, some green Glitter Glitz Gel (still sad that this product is retired!) and a piece of cranberry twine tied in a bow and my card is done!
