Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #70

Last weekend I got to go the Rediscover CTMH event in Vancouver and had a great time! I finally got to meet several consultants that I chat with on a regular basis and got to hang out with my friend and CTMH downline Karen for a couple of days. So much fun and I won an award! I had the Top Sales on my CTMH OBA, (which is my CTMH online sales site) to say that I was surprised is probably the biggest understatement of the year and I would like to thank all my customers because without them shopping I wouldn't have won this award!

Onwards to this weeks challenge for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Are you loving all the new artwork that is being featured??? We have had several very crafty and talented ladies join our design team for the next several months and I am so enjoying their art.

For this weeks challenge I did decide to do a card (I know I usually do!) and I was feeling the Christmas vibe. So using the Yuletide Carol Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go, I made this very Merry Christmas card. I have to say that the Yuletide Paper Packet is just lovely and so "classic" Christmas. All the stamps are from the Yuletide WOTG stamp set and were done using New England Ivy Ink and I did (very carefully) colour in the red on the tag using the new ShinHan alcohol marker R11 Carmine. Now I say that I carefully colour in the red because I stamped with Dye Ink which will bleed and doesn't work well with alcohol markers but I light dabbed the red to fill in the accents and I know it is not perfect but I only wanted a little colour to contrast. If I had wanted to colour in a larger project I would have used heat set pigment ink or one of the several other types of ink that are designed to work with alcohol markers.
Other product I used on this card are Ruby cardstock, Gold Shimmer Trim, a few dabs of Red Glitter Glitz Gel (sadly a retired product!) and some gold twine from "The Twinery".  I also edged all the paper with Distressing Ink in Chocolate.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #68

So I was trying to make August a "use up my stash month" and I have actually gotten a few layouts done using up some of my older paper packets and products but the new product has been calling my name.  Loudly! So.... for this weeks card I decide to use the Pathfinding Cardmaking Workshop On The Go.  I love the stamp set that comes in this WOTG, I mean look at the acorn and the feather!  And the wood grain stamp!  And! Sorry for all the !!! but I like it, I really like it!

This weeks Atlantic Hearts Sketch provided wonderful inspiration (as always) and viola!  A super cute card that let me play with the stamp set and yes, some fussy cutting was required.   My sentiment is from the Timely Tidings (M1047) Stamp Set.

For the stamping I used Glacier, Chocolate, Olive, Honey and Goldrush Ink.  I sponged distress all the edges using Glacier (such a beautiful new colour!) The frame was cut out using my Cricut Artbooking, page 85 and I cut it on real dial size at 4".  The inset pattern paper is the cut center piece flipped over. A few foam dots, a piece of bronze shimmer trim and a couple of bitty sparkles and my card is done.
