Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #56

When I first saw this sketch from AHSC I thought "pinwheels" and this card went thru several stages where I tried many different ideas like little pinwheels, etc. but it just wasn't coming together so I created one big one instead.

To create this card I used May's special "Free to Be Me" paper packet.  Have you seen this special yet?? To celebrate National Scrapbooking Month, Close To My Heart released this lovely packet of paper and time is running out!  And like most specials once it's gone, it's gone!  This wonderfully fun paper packet is only $5 with a $50 purchase! Ask me how you can get yours today.

To make the pinwheel I used my Cricut Artiste (pg. 50) and cut out the layers at 1/4" increments starting at 1 3/4"

Other products I used are Sweet Leaf CardstockAqua Dots, and Indian Corn Blue Ink.

The bottom scalloped edges were made using my Scallop  Border Punch and the sentiment is from May 2013's SOTM.  This stamp set was also part of the inspiration for this card.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #54

I find it very hard to concentrate when the sun is out and I have things to get done. Like make something fun with this weeks sketch from AHSC!

Having played with the very bright and colourful Lollydoodle the past few weeks this switch to the more masculine Timberline paper packet was a bit of a shock to my creative system. Lets just say that way more humming and hawing went into this little grad card than I care to admit!

Products I used to create this card are my Cricut using the Artbooking cartridge, Juniper Ink, chocolate, champagne and juniper cardstock, the very lightest paper in the brown& tan Glitter Paper and the cute little grad hat was stamped from the Congrats Graduate (A1139) Stamp Set.

This card turned out very clean and simple and way more masculine that I had originally intended but as mentioned Timberline is a bit more "boyish" with it's plaid, wood grain and hounds-tooth patterns.

My apologies on the picture, I just could not get the light right today!  You would think with all the sunshine coming in the window it would be a better picture but nope, not today.
