Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #52!!!

We did it! Happy 1st Anniversary to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and to celebrate this week they are having a give away.  And I quote "Everyone who submits an entry into this weeks sketch challenge will be entered into our draw for a chance to win a prize pack valued at $50, and you have a say!  Vote for your favourite entry! Just like our design team, you have 3 votes, so use them wisely."  As always Michelle and Darla of AHSC have given us a super cute sketch that gives you lots of room to be creative.

May is National Scrapbooking Month and Close To My Heart loves to celebrate this event by creating a special paper packet, this year the paper packet is called "Free To Be Me" and you will soon be getting some sneak peeks. But for this weeks card I decided to create using last years special paper packet called Dream Pop.  Such fun paper, So bright! So cheery!
This card came together quickly and the background pattern paper is called "glossy resist" which for those of us who do not own an embossing machine it is a nice alternative (and it's shiny!)  This pretty colour came in the Dream Pop paper packet and currently CTMH has a "Basics Assortment", I am hoping that we get tons of pretty colours with the new idea book in August...

For my flower I fussy cut it out of one of the patterned papers. I then took my exacto knife and carefully cut out the petals, gently bending them up to give my flower some pop!  I gave it even more pop by using foam dots to attach it to my card.  I used the zip strips from two of the pattern papers for the circles and sentiment and gave this card a little bling using Silver Shimmer Trim (such a quick and easy product!) and a few bitty sparkles.

Done. No stamping, No inking, CRAZY!

Thank you for stopping by and I truly appreciate your comments.  Follow the link to check out all the great artwork submitted to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope you get inspired and decide to come play along!  We would love to see what you create and you might get voted top card and win the prize pack!

Happy Anniversary AHSC and Happy Crafting!

Cross Canada Blog Hop... April

Welcome to our April Blog Hop featuring creations made with our latest Cricut Cartridge, Artbooking.  To purchase any of the items seen in our blog hop today, contact your local consultant to place an order.

We hope that you will take the time to leave comments on our posts, as we love to get feedback from our viewers....whether it was something that you really liked or some new technique that was used that you would like to learn how to do....by leaving us comments, we get to hear what you like, and what you want to see. Thank you… now on to our hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Michelle at My Creations with Michelle. If you came from Karen of Clearly Precious then you are in the right place!

My son started Kindergarten this year and I wanted to make a "folder" to hold all the extra special memorabilia like his report cards, the Christmas Concert pamphlet and those extra special art projects.  Close To My Heart has a product called True Fit Folios.  "These White Daisy cardstock file folders fit perfectly inside 12" × 12" Memory Protectors™. You can scrapbook the front and back of the folder and then slip any kind of memorabilia inside."   Using some of the elements from pages 68 and 69 of the new Artbooking cartridge I quickly created this super cute layout for my True Fit Folio.
Unfortunately the paper packet I used on this project is very retired, it was called "Typeset" and was just too perfect not to use! Other products I used for this project are Juniper, Creme Brulee and White Daisy Cardstock, the rusty brown cardstock is from my stash and very close to our retired Vineyard Berry.  I stamped the "KINDER" using the Keyboard Uppercase Alphabet (B1416) in Juniper ink

This cute little project is just one of the dozens that I have planned with the new Artbooking Collection now I just have to find more time! Thankfully Artbooking does all the hard work and takes the guessing out when it cuts all the elements on a page to scale! I am the very last "stop" on this hop across Canada but if you are still completing the circle your next stop is back at the beginning in Nova Scotia with Michelle of  My Creations with Michelle.

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you to get creative using some of the designs, products and techniques seen along the way. We hope you will join us again next month when we will be featuring Home Decor projects.  So mark May 15th on your calendars and hop along with us.

 P.S.

Leslie Germain of "The Memory Nest"  has invited me to share my artwork on her "Share Your Crafty Creations - No. 15".   Thanks for the invite and do follow the links to check out some of the other fabulous artwork both across Canada and at The Memory Nest.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #50

Spring!  It is so sunny and warm here on the wet coast.  I love spring but it so does not love me... don't know which is worse right now, my allergies or the medications I am taking to combat them!

We are coming up on our 1 year anniversary at Atlantic Hearts and to celebrate there will be a give-away on week #52 for that weeks entries. More details will be available soon and I hope you come play along with us!

I have been using the very fun Lollydoodle Paper Packet as this months selection for my Monthly Card Clubs and decided to use it for this weeks sketch as well.  Lollydoodle has proven to not only super cute but versatile.

Looking at my card I realized that it is a bit of a mix between this weeks sketch and the Lollydoodle Cardmaking Workshop on the Go.  I did use the stamp set from the cardmaking workshop for the sentiment, little heart and leaves. And Pear and Blush Inks were used for the stamping.  The Scallop Border Punch created the border on the bottom of my green and pink pieces.

A quick, cute and Spring inspired card!  Thank you for stopping by and I truly appreciate your comments.  Follow the link to check out all the great artwork submitted to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope you get inspired and decide to come play along!  We would love to see what you create and you may be voted into the top 3 cards of the week.

Happy Crafting!
