Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #48

Image
So I feel like this post should start out like the beginning of a "Tale of Two Cities"...  'It was the best of times, it was this worst of times.'  This card has driven me nuts today and to be honest I am still not happy with it but I need to stop!  There has been several different variations on this card and this final version is sort of a conglomeration of them all!  Not sure why this card has been giving me fits the past 24 hours but it has.  It is a super cute sketch to work off of from AHSC and super cute paper!  So in this case it is probably just a case of "operator error!"
Anyways,  in the making of this card (and it's variations)  I used the fun Lollydoodle paper Packet, pink glitter paper, aqua dots, my Cricut Artbooking and Art Philosophy  and the "Hi" sentiment is from the M size stamps. I used Slate Ink for stamping and sponge distressing the edges of my paper.

Thank you for stopping by and I truly appreciate your comments!  Follo…

Ariana and Delicate Wings...

Working on cards for my monthly Card Club and I love to use "challenges" to help me focus (sometimes I have too many ideas and not enough paper!).  Challenges are not only helpful but also a lot of fun.
Products I used to make this cards are the very pretty Ariana Paper Packet, the sentiment is from the Joyful Birthday Stamp Set (B1419) and the current Petite Perks - Delicate Wings (ask me how you can get yours free!) for the stamped images. All stamping was done in Indian Corn Blue Ink and all products are from Close To My Heart.  Some of the challenges that inspired me for this card are:

Heart 2 Heart Challenges: Pantone Spring 2014 Color Challenge The challenge is to use one (or more) of the Pantone Spring 2014 colors on your project; only neutrals such as white, cream, tan, gray, or black may also be used. I feel the Ariana Colour palette and the Indian Corn Blue that I used for the stamping fall into the colour palette used in the Pantone Spring 2014 nicely.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #46

We are fast approaching #52!  Hard to believe we have been at this for almost a year, "Time Flies when you are having fun!"
This weeks sketch from Atlantic Hearts is deceptively easy. Took me much longer than I care to admit to settle on the details for this card. But now that the decisions have been made I am very pleased with the results. Products that I used for this card:
- Ariana Paper Packet, Outdoor Denim and Colonial White Cardstock - Outdoor Denim Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad - Burlap Ribbon and Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon - Cricut Artiste pg. 33 for the fancy scalloped shape for my sentiment - Stamp Set is "Friend" A1142 and is a Hostess Rewards Stamp Set (ask me how you can get yours!) - Smoothie Mini-Medley for the smoothie ribbon and metal accent. (retired and currently on While Supplies Last)

Have fun checking out all the great artwork submitted to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, I hope you get inspired and decide to come play along!  We would l…

a little new and a little retired...

Created for my monthly card clubs this card combines the lovely Skylark Paper Packet that is found in the current Idea Book with several products that are currently found on While Supplies Last.  While this card proved to be a bit of a challenge for a few of my card club "girls" they did great. Most of them had not worked with craft paper before so we did discuss how pigment inks show up so much better on it over dye inks (as you can see from the chicken wire stamping on the flap) and we also used a Color-ready Cork Shape and they were surprised that they could stamp on it with pigment inks as well.
Other products I used on this card: D1544 - Distressed Backgrounds (the wonderful "Chicken Wire")D1510 - 4 My Friend (which I just found out is a retired stamp set)Buttercup Pigment Ink which is found in the Whimsy Mini Pigment Pad SetJuniper and Buttercup Dye Ink for the Sentiment and inking accents on the Dragonfly & BirdCricut Art Philosophy to cut out the Drag…
