Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #16
As always AHSC has given us a great sketch for this weeks challenge! This week I decided to try and follow the sketch as closely as I could. It's fun to interpret sketches and make them my own but sometimes the fun is in the recreation of the sketch!
Using Pacifica Cardstock as my base, I cut the Tommy B&T in the pattern shown, for my embellishment I did go a little off sketch and made a pinwheel from May's Stamp of the Month instead of a flower. It is wonderful that life can be so busy but it does make it challenging to play with all the cool product I have been getting I feel very far behind! The pinwheels are adorable and I know I will be using this stamp set again when I finally get back to creating layouts of my son when he was a toddler. I am so looking forward to this move being over and I have tons of room to spread out and create!
Cricut Artiste and stamped them using Pear, Lagoon and Sunset Ink. For the sentiment I also used Sunset ink and stamped it directly onto the Tommy paper, I don't typically stamp directly onto the "pretty paper" because I always worry about messing it up but it seemed like the right thing for this card. I literally held a my breath while I stamped it! Whew, glad it worked out and I do need to challenge myself to so do this more often! I lightly sponged the edges of the Tommy paper in Sunset to soften the edges and then sanded the edges of the Pacifica cardstock to show the white core and give it a bit of a distressed look.
I put my pinwheel together with 3D foam tape between the layers and put a Pacifica brad in the center. I finished it off with some Stardust Glitter Glitz Gel accents and a couple of bitty blue sparkles.
