Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #13

Wow the weeks just keep moving on!  Seems like it was just a few days ago that #1 was posted at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and the fun began...

Like all Cricut fans I am super excited for Close To My Heart's new collection called "Artbooking" which will be available August 1st but in all honesty I feel that I have barely scratched the surface in all that my Art Philosophy and Artiste collections can do!  With that in mind I was flipping through my Artiste collection and came across the super fun images for "Movie Night".  I loved how the top of the popcorn box reminded me of this sketch from Michelle's at AHSC and the idea for this invitation was born!

All the images can be found on page 67 and I did cut out the 3D image for the popcorn box and then trimmed off what I didn't need.  Using my Embossing Stylus I made the lines on my popcorn box and then sanded them lightly with my sanding block to show the white core of the paper.  To create the "popcorn" I crumpled (really abused!) some scrap Colonial White Cardstock and then sponged it with Honey Ink for my "butter".  I then tore off pieces of the cardstock and further abused it by crumpling and twisting it into my popcorn shapes, I attached the popcorn to my card using liquid glass.

Have you tried the new glitter paper yet?  Currently we have Black & Grey and Brown &Tan, next idea book we also get Greens!  It goes through the Cricut just like regular cardstock and I love how my film strip is now all sparkley! Once the film strip was cut out I mounted it over a few pieces of Slate Polka-dot Washi Tape on White Daisy Cardstock and then attached it to my card with a few pieces of 3-D foam tape at the top to give it a bit of pop over my popcorn box. I then lightly sponged the edge's of "Movie Night" with Cranberry Ink to give them some contrast and my invitation is done!  Now I just have to decide when we are having movie night!

Thank you for stopping by and I truly appreciate your comments! Follow the link to check out all the great artwork submitted to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! I hope you get inspired and decide to come play along!  We would love to see what you create and you may be voted into the top 3 cards of the week.

Happy Crafting!
