I choose to do the 6x6 canvas and once I made some decisions this project finally came together.  Those pesky decisions!  I like dragonfly's and my family loves to give me them to me.  My mum-in-law gave me this wonderful necklace pendant a few years ago but I find it too heavy to wear.  I hate that it has been sitting in the jewelry box and it just seemed like the perfect time to show it off.

To create the project I used the honeycomb stamp for the Distressed Backgrounds stamp set and covered the canvas using Pear Pigment Ink.  The flowers are from the Love Blooms stamp set and stamped in Hollyhock, Blush and Cotton Candy with pear/sweet leaf leaves.

Using a few pieces of Dakota (love this paper and will miss it when it retires!) to create the wooden frame and some Durable Square Studs to nail it together.  I used a stick pin for a retired packet of Bling Assortment to attach my dragonfly to the canvas and a few opaques finished off my roses.

I really like how this project turned out, I love that the stamping is uneven and not quite perfect (which for those who know me will attest... this can be an issue.)  This canvas will now proudly hang with the lovely little dragonfly print that my mum-in-law just got me for my birthday!

I am the very last "stop" on this hop across Canada but if you are still completing the circle your next stop is back at the beginning in Nova Scotia with Michelle of  My Creations with Michelle.

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you to create your own Canvas projects using some of the designs, paper and techniques seen along the way. Join us again in June when we will be featuring party themed projects.

I am going to submit this project to the Heart 2 Heat Challenge: Let's See Those May Flowers and  Color My Heart: Color Dare #42.  Challenges are so much fun!

  1. This turned out very lovely....great canvas!

  2. very nice- I almost used the barn paper on my background too!

  3. Very beautiful Candra. I love your dragonfly. I am sure your mum-in-law will be happy to see it displayed so beautifully.

  4. Such a neat idea to showcase your jewellery. Beautiful

  5. This is gorgeous, Candra!

  6. Love the way it turned out! The flowers are gorgeous. Thanks for coming to play with us over at the Color Dare this week. :)

  7. Very pretty. I really like the idea of stamping the flowers in two different shades of pink for the outline. I've never thought of doing that before. It adds an extra layer of dimension. Thanks for inspiring us over at Color My Heart!

  8. What a pretty canvas! I like that you used the pendant from your mom in a different way than intended. So clever! Thanks for playing at Color My Heart.

  9. wow! can this come to my house? im loving this

  10. This is very resourceful. Love what you did with this.

  11. Great way to feature a beautiful dragonfly!

  12. Candra, your canvases are simply beautiful. I love the dragonflies, but more importantly, I love that you have found a creative way to enjoy something that is important to you. So inspiring -- I now want to go through my jewellery box and see what treasures are hiding there.
