Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #4

Happy Victoria Day to everyone!  We just got back from a great camping trip to Horne Lake Caves Regional Park located here on Vancouver Island.  It was a great weekend, still a little cold and damp but we made do with all the other crazy campers!

This weeks sketch was once again fun and simple!  It also gave me inspiration to finish off that last card needed for an upcoming card workshop.  (I had a bit of creative block getting that last one done!)

You could call this a "retired" card in that I created it using retired Stella Paper, with retired taffy card stock and some of the fabulous (soon to be retired)  colour ready Canvas Badge Buttons.  These things are amazing and I am surprised there wasn't more discussion about them when they were in regular stock, they can currently be found in the while supplies last section and a great buy at $1.70!  They take the pigment ink so beautifully and as you can see the stamped images are so clean and clear! The stamps are from "A Garden" (A1119) and the I used ruby, lagoon and sunset pigment inks. Close To My Heart does have several colour-ready canvas products available and I definitely look forward to trying more of them out!

I mounted all the pieces onto some basic brown card stock (not sure of the source) and as you can see I choose to use the Canvas Badge Buttons instead of a star and as my sentiment.  I loved the Stella papers they had a great vintage vibe, so I distress all the edges with a bit of sanding to give it that little bit extra "vintage".  I think this card turned out fun and simple, just like Michelle's sketch!
