Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #2

I have been wanting to use some of the Tommy Papers and looking thru my stamp catalog (on evernote!) I came across a very retired stamp set called "Ticket for All". I stamped the image in Archival Black and then got to play with some of my alcohol markers (honey, pear and ruby to be exact) and I sponged the sky blue. Using archival or pigment inks for stamping your image allows you to then colour in the image with alcohol markers without fear that the stamped image will bleed or smudge! Once it was all dried I used some stardust glitz glitter gel on the clouds and a few dots of almond glitz glitter on the sand.
Now came the challenging part. How to recreate this awesome sketch without over doing it!? After several false starts I decided less is more and keep it simple!
A small strip of Tommy paper mounted onto Outdoor Denim cardstock, a piece of Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon, Cranberry Baker's Twine
to attach my ticket and a little hand written Bon Voyage banner (in
pear to match the bucket). I then mounted it all onto the white card
base to give it a frame.
I like that this card turned out so clean and simple (CAS!) and it is keeping with my own personal challenge to try and create more "manly!" cards. Like so many others I find it easy to create "girly" and the men in my life get left out...
Thank you for stopping by and I truly appreciate your comments! Follow this link to check out all the other great artwork submitted to this sketch challenge!
