a quiet Friday evening

So I am finally feeling mostly better today...(had a tummy bug since Wednesday) and found myself with a quiet Friday evening in my crafty space!  What to do? What to do??  A Mojo Monday of course with a little bit of CAS-ual Fridays thrown in...

This weeks Mojo Monday #275 sketch is

and this weeks CAS-ual Friday challenge is  CFC85: Round of Applause- CAS cards that celebrates an accomplishment, and feature at least one circle.

I decided that I didn't want to use any patterned paper but make my own, so using the stamp set from the January's special "Whooo's Your Valentine?"  I stamped the chevron and cute heart patterns onto the pink cardstocks using "cotton candy" ink.  I also stamped the "you're Sweet" in cotton candy onto the chipboard piece.  After mounting everything onto cotton candy cardstock adding a little chocolate ribbon and some strawberry twine from the Twinery and viola...

(I really am unhappy with the picture!  The colours are not nearly as vibrant as they should be and I have all sorts of weird shadows.... I need a proper light box set up and I think my next project will be to build one!)

  1. I think it looks lovely! I need to learn how to put the ink along the outside edges of a cut out so it stands out more. I don't know how to do that yet.

  2. you need brighter light from all angles, or use a white piece of bristol board behind it, the reflection usually gets rid of all those shadows.
great job, can't wait to play with these stamps.

  3. Barb - I will happily give you a quick tutorial on inking paper at our next workshop!

Anonymous - Thanks for the tips!

    Have a wonderful day!

  4. Love the card cute and simple for any of us to try.

  5. A beautiful card! Love the colors and the layers. Thanks for playing at CAS-ual Fridays this week!
