Merry Monday on a Friday

On the blog "Always Playing with Paper" they have a weekly challenge called "Merry Monday" and the idea behind it is to get a head start on your Christmas cards...

I liked the simplicity of this weeks design so I dug out the box of Christmas supplies and created this little card in about 15 minutes.

When I say little I mean it!  The dimensions of this card are 2 1/2" by 5".  Once again I got to play with my new Close to My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge cutting out the metallic card stock, white circles and the red circle frames.

The metallic paper is from my "stash" and I am unsure where I originally purchased it and the stripped paper is from Close To My Heart's "Believe" paper packet from the Winter 2011 Idea Book.

I stamped the images and inked the edges using "Grey Wool" and hand coloured in using markers I have on hand. The stamps are from Close to My Heart and I used  Petite Perks W2016 and the "Merry Christmas" is from Festivities D1321. I understand that both of these are now retired and I can't wait for the new Idea Book coming out in July to see what we have for the holidays this year!

Mojo Monday #238 & H2H

Got busy and missed last weeks Mojo Monday but this weeks sketch begged to be created!  So simple and fun.  Also, well popping around the inspiration blogs I saw this weeks Heart 2 Heart colour challenge which is so the Dotty for You papers.  Two challenges in one! Fun.

I decided to use my new Close To My Heart Cricut® Art Philosophy cartridge as much as possible on this card as I haven't had much of a chance to experiment with it yet.  I ended up only using a few images on this card but it did take awhile to decide which ones I wanted to try!

The size of the card became 4 x4 1/2 once I got the postage stamp squares cut out and of course I used the exclusive limited edition Dotty For You papers as they are just so bright and cheerful!

I used a few Just Blooms flowers inking them with Sunset and stamped the "Hello!" from the A Bowwow stamp set in Lagoon.  A bit of Startdust glitz glitter gel in the centre of the flower and it's ready for a friend.  So simple and fun. Enjoy.
